Stroud Township Parks

Stroud Region Open Space & Recreation Commission handles Stroud Township’s pavilion and field reservations. (SROSRC, 15 Day St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301).  The park reservation forms are available through them. Call 570-426-1512 or visit the website at https://www.srosrc.org/rentals

Park facilities can be used for free on a first-come, first-served basis for Stroud Township residents. However, users without a reservation form will not be guaranteed that the facility is available, and have to leave the field or pavilion if a person with a reservation arrives. Parks are open during daylight hours only. No camping is permitted.

Township Park Use, Non-Resident Fees, and, Pavillon and Ball field Reservations

There is a Park User fee for Brodhead Creek Park and Pinebrook Park on Rte. 191 for Non-Residents of Stroud Township. $10 Daily Per Non–Resident (ages 12 and under free) between Memorial Day and Labor Day.  There are no park usage fees for Stroud Township residents and residents of reciprocating Monroe County PA municipalities, or for PA licensed fishermen when fishing. Proof of residency will be required.

All users must follow Township rules for parks and recreational facilities listed at each location.

Jay Albertson Park

Located at 1211 N. 5th St. this park, locally known as “the duck pond” provides a lovely setting for the Stroud Township Municipal Building. Parking is available in the parking lots, but not on the streets. The park has playground equipment, ADA swings, field, pavilion and path around the pond. The property across the street from the pond on Wallace St. is part of the park and has a gazebo and field.

Pinebrook Park

Located off Rt. 191 near Pinebrook Bible Camp, there are two entrances, north and south leading into parking areas for visitors. Walking trails have been cut through the wooded areas. The northern end trails join into the southern end trails by a bridge built over a creek between the sections. In the North part of the park there are picnic sites with tables and grills for public enjoyment and access to Brodhead Creek at both locations.

Big Pines Park

Located 4189 Sky Pine Way, Big Pines is a 25 acre park with a soccer/baseball field, parking area and a picnic pavilion with grills.

Brodhead Creek Park

Located at 4002 N 5th St. Brodhead Park is a 34 acre property on a pristine stretch of the Brodhead Creek, which is perfect for observing nature and for fishing. There is a small pond for children under 12 to fish in. There are trails and picnic areas with tables and grills, and two pavilions.

Creekview Park

Located at 395 Powerhouse lane, Creekview Park contains a baseball complex developed through a partnership with Stroudsburg Little League and East Stroudsburg University. There is a playground and parking to access the Levee Loop trail system.

Hickory Valley Park

Located at 1303 Hickory Valley Rd, the park contains picnic tables, a walking path, and access to stream fishing.

Located at 1222 Heritage Drive, Katz Park contains 7.2 acres with a pond and a walking trail.

Knights Park is owned by Stroud Township and leased by Stroudsburg Area School District.

Kovarick Park Lands

Located at 138 McMichael Dr and consisting of approximately 13 acres, this beautiful property features undeveloped woodlands with the future potential for walking trails.

Michael Moore Park

Located at 6435 White Birch St this neighborhood “pocket park” of approximately 1/2 acre includes two swings, a satellite climber, two diggers, two spring rockers and a ball chute game.

Located at 2432 N. 5th St this park contains a picnic area next to Brodhead Creek Park.

Yetter Park

Located at 198 Wilson Ave, Yetter Park contains a free public disc golf course. The Levee Loop Trail runs through it with walking trails and serves as part of a greenway connecting to East Stroudsburg Borough.

Appalachian Trail

There are 2 township locations to access the Appalachian Trail, which borders the southern end of Stroud Township. One location is Fox Gap, at Tott’s Gap Rd. The other is on Rte. 191 South, below Stroudsburg. Free parking is available.

SROSRC Levee Loop

Constructed in the deadly aftermath of deadly floods in the 1950s, the levee separating the residents of Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg from the torrential tendencies of the Brodhead Creek now foster a more unifying function – the Levee Loop Trail! From the Levee Loop Trail, encircling a picturesque portion of the Brodhead Creek, one can easily and safely touch fourteen public parks, three playgrounds, two skate parks, several ball fields, two swimming pools, two fishing ponds, one disc golf course, a regular golf course, nine schools, a university, a Community Center, and the historic downtown districts of Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg.
